Put all of that together, and tell me the last time a doctor, teacher, or police officer called you a cracker or a honky and you didn’t know if they were going to kill, rape, or infect you with something or simply leave you to die in a situation when you needed help.
Because there are both groups of people who say mean and shitty things all day and then there is a group who cause violence or let people die through deliberate negligence, and it says everything about you if you are worried about the former and not even thinking about the latter as a problem.
Because you’re saying your fee-fees matter more than people’s lives.
Not to mention, when people throw racial slurs at people of color, your “all racism is bad” self cannot be found, much less when folks are getting killed.
But hey, keep on with that white supremacy and tell me more about how racism is bad.
“Gamers get hella uncomfortable over male sexuality too. Can you imagine a “good male character who just happens to be wearing sexually exploitative outfits because he’s ok with his masculinity?” Constantly has the camera pan lovingly over his asscrack and firm glutes, and big ole dangly ballsack that is totes sweaty from all this MMA and soldiering. Time to hit the showers, and do you, personally, think it’s ok to have a long slow pan up the dude’s package (indiscreetly hidden in a jock of course), to his chiseled physique and erect nipples (pierced). He’s not even a Bond-esque confident man, he’s basically a weird Bowie caricature that’s constantly having near-dickslips in every single cinematic as the completely nonsexualized female characters do their business of being gruff and shooting dudes and advancing the plot. Finally, at the end he falls in love (out of nowhere) and/or is killed by the big baddie.”—a forum post I read recently, trying to give a solid example of what ‘male objectification in gaming ’ would actually look like if it was anything equivalent to current female objectification in gaming. (via nothingbutsurrender)
It occurs to me that when I finally do get around to watching FMA:B, I’ll be completely spoiled with everything.:P Even though now I have no clue as to who these characters are, or the context, when I start watching I’ll be all…oh… Oh well. Exactly what happened with River’s identity and everything in Doctor Who. *shrug*
That’s tumblr for ya.
Spoilers is why I tend to marathon stuff now. ”Wow, this Princess Tutu is awesome. QUICK I MUST WATCH EVERYTHING IN TWO DAYS BEFORE ANYONE TELLS ME WHAT HAPPENS”
Welcome to the reason why I don’t Tumblr on a Sunday (my time) until i’ve watched the latest Korra.
